Summer at Hogwarts - New Orleans

In June of 2005, the Religious Education program of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of New Orleans sponsored a week-long daycamp with activities based on the fictional world Harry Potter, and it was a blast, for young witches, wizards and muggles alike.
August of 2005 brought Hurricane Katrina, with its flooding and devastation, and our building has not quite recovered. We are very fortunate, however, to have been offered space for camp this year at the New Orleans Charter Science & Math High School, located at the corner of Nashville & Loyola.
Summer at Hogwarts: Second Year will commence on Monday, June 5 and finish up on Friday, June 9. Cost for the week is $100; sliding scale options are available. The camp day begins at 8:30 AM and winds up at 3:00 PM. After-care is available until 6 PM each day, at a cost of $5 per hour.
Snacks will be provided; campers are asked to bring their own lunches.
The ages for camp are 6-12. Camp is full at this time. We are maintaining a waiting list, giving priority to returning campers.

Meanwhile, here are some images of the great fun had during our first year. Activities included Herbology, Care of Magical Creatures, Divination, the Magic of Music, Potions, Quidditch, and of course, the End of Term Feast, as well as the making of robes and wands.
